Launched in the 1930's Rayban Sunglasses have been a huge worldwide hit ever since. The brand was founded by an optical company called Bausch & Lomb have been found in the United States of America. They were asked with a respected pilot to make some glasses that could protect their eyes from the severely harmful rays that the sun produces. They spent time researching the project and after many dedicated hours they came up with a pair of sunglasses they labelled Ray-Ban's as they blocked harmful UV rays from the wearer. The glasses were perfect and almost immediately the entire U.S Air Force were given pairs of these to use on flying missions.
Within years Bausch and Lomb sensed that there is an industry within the optical and fashion sectors for their eyewear. They established a retail distribution network and employed marketing experts who used images of pilots wearing many that was a fantastically alluring image and something which was instantly successful. Through the years to come the brand continued to grow and created new and larger collections of eyewear including Ray Ban Aviators and Ray-Ban Wayfarers that have gone on to become world famous designs of shades.
The company continues to develop as well as in modern times was bought by the Italian Fashion House specialist Luxotica for over One Billion Dollars. In order to maximise the return of investment they've created a constantly increasing retail network and made sure they're stocked out of all leading stores, opticians and shops. They have also increased the number of the glasses to incorporate more modern and contemporary styles.
